Our shell holders are cut from precise patterns and held to high manufacturing standards. However, due to thickness, density & flexibility differences in natural leather, some break-in is required with several of our shell holder models.
2 to 3 days should be sufficient to break-in your leather loops. It’s also a good idea to wear the shell holders on your belt, prior to your hunt, as they will also conform to your waist. C-1 “wallet” style holders should be filled with your ammo immediately and given time to conform to same. C-2 leather loop holders should also be filled upon delivery so that the loops will mold to your cartridges. A light coat of petroleum jelly can be applied to the cartridges, if they are difficult to insert for the first time. C-8 cartridge belt w/leather loops. The above applies and if the new belt can be worn prior to field use -all the better. We do not recommend mixing calibers with our Leather Loop Shell Holders, so that a balance of access/retention of your ammo can be assured. Elastic loop versions C-2, C-8, and Models C-3, & C-3CRP do NOT require any break-in and can accommodate a range of cartridges based on their intended size design. While the C-3B is made with Leather Loops, it does not have to be dedicated to a specific cartridge or caliber, as it has a flap for retention and the loops are roomier. |

Dear Murray LeatherA friend of mine a few years ago was going to an SCI show and told me about your products, being in Australia I hadn’t heard about you and so took a chance and gave him the money to buy me one of your bullet pouches. During late autumn to early spring I hunt Sambar deer with scent trailing hounds in the mountains of Victoria. I have had this pouch strapped to a chest harness for at least 6 or 7 years, I think. In that time its coped with snow, hail, rain, blood, blackberries, assorted undergrowth, hound leads, hounds and gun dogs using my chest as a rest for their paws to give me a friendly sniff in the chance of a rub and pat.  In all that time od abuse not one thread has given way nor has the press studs stopped working and the scratches inflicted have been so minor. Prior to buying this pouch I had used cheap leather ones as well as the nylon ones, and after a year or two they all gave up in one form or another. So I would like to give you and your staff a massive praise in making such a durable and well made product, it has been sensational, thanks for making it.
